It’s ‘Tag Time’!😆 And an award too!!😊

First of all, I owe an apology to my blogging family. I’ve been quite preoccupied with my academics lately, and hence been unable to update my blog or read your blogs regularly. I remember my wp family every now and then, and I know I’m missing out on a lot your fabulous posts..I don’t think I could catch up with it soon, but I’ll try my best to do as much as I can. I’m really grateful to all my fellow bloggers and my readers for your love and support so far. As a token of this love and appreciation, I received two tags and an award recently. This post is to express my gratitude for this encouragement.

The very first Blue Sky tag I received was from my lovely blogger friend, Nayana.  She is special to me in the sense that she introduced me to my recent obsession (BTS!😆), which I’m grateful for. She writes beautiful and versatile poetry. I strongly urge you to read her blog here.

These are the questions she had asked, and my reply to them :

1.What tires you most? (emotionally)

Conflicts, especially with my mother, father, or anyone who is very dear to me, whom I believed to have understood me. This happens a lot, since I’m such a rebellious kid..😉

2.What is the one thing that you are convinced you can never do, but want to?

I want to live in another distant planet with many moons and two suns, with spectacular geographical features, just like in Halo.

3.One person (whom you don’t know in real life) that you can relate yourself to?

I assume that the person has to be fictional. Right now, the only one who comes to my mind is Kaname Kuran from Vampire Knight (not sure if it’s because he is my 2-D love #1😅). I do not claim to be as ingenious, good-looking, and cool as he is..He is totally a different species. But I can relate to him in many ways. I can relate to his loneliness, his melancholy (though the causes are different). I too am possessive about the ones I love and hold dear, so much so that I want to hold them tightly in my warm embrace and never let them go..but I make the hard choice of not doing that as I want to see them grow as individuals. I can relate to his decision to sacrifice own happiness for the greater good of humanity, even if it means you have to let go of what is precious to you. I can relate to a lot of his ideals.

3. One trait each from your parent, that you have or want to have?

I wish to have the following traits from my parents:

From my mother – Her ability to adjust and compromise.

From my father – His health consciousness (I really admire the fact that he never misses his daily workouts).

4.What is the common trait between all the friends you make?

Ability to carry out deep, emotionally and/or intellectually engaging conversations, with common interests.

5.Is happiness most important thing in life? If not, what is the most important thing?

No..happiness is not necessarily the most important thing in life. To me, finding the truth and meaning of existence is of utmost importance.

6.How do you deal with criticism?

Ugh..Honestly, I’m not excellent at dealing with criticisms. I hate to be at fault, so I try to be as perfect as possible in my undertakings. But I’m considerably good at handling constructive, well-meant criticisms, thanks to my ruthless critics (parents). I do feel sad when someone points out to my mistake (lack of perfection), but I’m learning to take it well and try to be positive about it…I believe constructive criticisms are a necessity for growth.

7.One precious memory?

I had the best birthday of my life when my 21st birthday was celebrated this April 20 with my friends, who made sure that I felt special and dear to them. It was a birthday like never before.

8. Favorite weather?

Sunny and rainy, with cool breeze (you know..those summer evenings when it drizzles).

4.One song that has been on your mind lately? What does it remind you of?

Blood, sweat and tears by BTS..It reminds me of the regrettable fate of the youths who have become victims to their temptations (excessive drinking, drug abuse, etc..)..

By the way, I always remember you whenever I listen to BTS, Nayana!

5. Any advice for me, to improve my writing skills?

You are already a good writer. I cannot advise you, but I can share one tip I found to be useful. I’ve always found reading classics a good way to sharpen language skills.

Thank you, Nayana, for those wonderful questions!

Now, my second Blue Sky Tag is from my Tomodachi (buddy), Varun. He is an awesome blogger, and I really look forward to reading his posts. I strongly prompt you to read his touching and thought-provoking works here.

Here are the questions he had raised, and my answers to them :

1.What’s your opinion on the existence of other dimensional travels and parallel multiverse?

I absolutely love the concept. I mean, modern cosmology doesn’t rule out the possibility of parallel universes. Multiverse is definitely a possibility. I remember an episode from the Bhagavatham, where Brahma of our universe sees n number of other brahmas (of other universes) like him, forcing him to realize that he is just one among the many. Maybe, we are just one among the infinite possibilities. I doubt multiverse and dimensional travel would be possible, as the laws governing one universe need not be the same as those of another. But you never know…history has proven that what we label as impossible may actually be possible one day.

2.If you could travel back in time, where would you go? (you get only three chances for the time travel).

Krishna’s Dwaraka, an early man’s cave during the stone age, and Dandi (during the historical salt march) where our brave freedom fighters challenged the British sovereignty with a pinch of salt.

3. What supernatural power would you like to have?

Ability to manipulate and control people’s emotions and thoughts (I promise I would use it for the goodness of humanity😇).

4.What’s your favorite season of the year?

Monsoon.

5.What would you rather be? A werewolf or a vampire? (you have to choose between them. No ‘neither’ option)

A werewolf, of course! I consider wolf to be my spirit animal…you could see a philosophical depth and a untold melancholy in its eyes..Also, I would love to howl and do a stealthy prowl!

6.What are the top three wishes from your bucket list?

  1. Becoming an accomplished and skilled scientist.
  2. Publishing my own books on science, spirituality, philosophy and poetry.
  3. Establishing an NGO to help the youth save themselves from drug abuse, and to help save girls who have been forced into prostitution, providing necessary education and basic skills needed to lead an independent and dignified life.

7.What is or was your new year’s resolution for 2017?

That I would be an obedient, responsible daughter who always nods to my parents’ notions….Needless to say, the resolution didn’t last a day.

8. If you had a choice, would you rather relive your teenage years or your 20s years? Why?

If I had a choice, I would relive my 20s..Teenage is a problematic age. I want to live wisely, like a mature adult (whatever that is..😂). But on second thoughts, I’m in my early twenties, so I can’t really give a proper reply. Maybe, I’ll let you know after a decade or so..(if I’m still around).

9.What’s the one thing about you that people notice instantly? (your unique trait or trademark)

My smile. I’ve been told that I smile a lot and generally give off a ‘warm’ and ‘innocent’ feeling.

10.(last and simple one) What’s your most favorite dish?

Ghee roast with Onion Chutney ( Ulli Chammanthi )…yummy!!😋 Now I’m feeling hungry😣

Thank you so much Varun, for those questions and your heartfelt words..Makes me immensely happy to know that you enjoy reading my work too.

Moving on to the award..

I’m really grateful to  Suraj Kumar of  BOOKS N ME for the ‘One Lovely Blogger Award’. He is a blogger I started following recently, and I find his blog to be a heaven for bookworms. He writes honest reviews for different varieties of books. I strongly urge you to visit his blog here.

Now, my reply to the questions raised!

1. If you would ever write a biography, what would be the title ?

‘Legacy’

2.Name only one book that has made a great impact on your life.

The Mahabharatha

3. Imagine you have only one day left to live .What would be your schedule of your last day ?

I’ll spend it with my family in the Sri Krishna Temple at Guruvayoor, immersed in prayers with the poor and the old who live in the temple premises.

4. Which skill or hobby you have that only a few persons know ?

I game..Or used to game a lot during my late childhood and teenage years..I rarely game these days, as I’m bounded by my academic duties.

5.The best place on this earth for you to pass a holiday. ( except your house or bed😋)

My answer is the same as that of Suraj..every introvert’s dream holiday destination..An isolated island with a beautiful hut, with all the books I want to read, my laptop with all my favourite anime/manga/movies, power supply, WiFi connectivity, a  TV and a PlayStation…and my favourite food, water, fruits and my Lord’s idol too.

6.How would you define yourself in one short sentence ?

I like to describe myself as a ‘walking paradox’, whose mind is ‘wired in a weird way’..(only those who are really close to me would know what this means).

7.What are some strange or annoying things you think some bloggers do ?

Liking about 10 posts in just 2 minutes…No human could actually read that many posts in such a short time..I really don’t like it when bloggers do mass-liking without actually caring to read the material..Please ‘like’ a post only if you really like it.

8.What’s the one thing you love about yourself?

The depth of my inner world.

9.From Harry Potter world ,who would you choose to date and why ?

Albus Dumbledore, when he was a youth..I won’t date old men. I really admire Dumbledore a lot for his genius, foresight and wisdom. Besides, he also have an eccentric side which I find to be very amusing.

10.Which strange habit you have that you won’t admit to the outside world?

It is a secret, you know…😉😁😎

11.Finally, if you ever find yourself on a strange island with your crush and a can of food for a day and you can only choose one between sex and food .. what would you choose ?😋

😱..Well..since he would be my crush and NOT my husband, I’ll choose food..(I’m the old lady who believes in remaining virgin till marriage..)

Once again, Thank you for the honor, Suraj..Let’s continue to support each other’s blogging adventure.

I know I’m supposed to nominate for the tags and award..That is the rule. But, please allow me to break this rule this time. I’m not nominating anyone in particular. All of my fellow bloggers are really worthy of these tags and awards, which are really fun to do. So, if you want to join the fun, then kindly do not hesitate to participate.

Thank you all for your love, appreciation and support.

With Love,

Surya😊

  1. Loved your answers dear 🙂
Congrats for the award. You absolutely deserve it. 🙂
Thanks for taking up the tag and mentioning me. Thanks for all of your kind words for me and my writing.
I am glad that BTS reminds you of me. Nothing could be a better honor.
I agree with you…Blood, Sweat and Tears is one of their amazing songs ever…what I love about this song is it has so many meaning…there are layers of messages and concepts…
Apart from the BTS theory related to this song (check that out if you haven’t)…the multiple meanings are related to corruption of youth, the dark side of ambition and success. But as I read from some source, the lyrics of the song is mainly about how the art they are pursuing as artist (Boy meets evil through art concept), takes them to a darker side of world, and even though this passion may destroy them, they don’t want to give up. (You may find this link interesting : http://seoulbeats.com/2016/10/boy-meets-art-btss-blood-sweat-tears-as-kunstlerroman/ )
And if you haven’t read ‘Demian’ by Hermann Hesse…you must read it. The ‘Wings’ album is based on that novel. Even the quotes by Namjoon in the songs (as well as 7 short films released for the album) are from this book. Reading this book will give you a different perspective for this song.

Am I speaking too much about BTS? Sorry. 🙂
Although I don’t say much in general. The mention of BTS just triggers me into one long rant. Thank you for bearing with me. 🙂

    Thanks once again dear. 🙂

      1. You don’t know how glad I am to share my love for these 7 cuties…:-)
And it is such a joy to have someone to talk about it..not many fans of BTS around me…(apart from my sister and brother)
So it’s a joy to hear someone appreciate their work and love them as much as I do. 🙂

I hope BTS stays active for many more years (I panic just thinking about what will happen when they go to army or if they ever disband 😦 )
And I hope in coming years we have more fans of BTS (A.R.M.Y)….who knows..then we may have a concert in India too 🙂 That would be awesome 🙂

  2. Ahh.. it was a quite long post. But it didn’t seem to be boring at all.
Interesting questions and even more interesting answers!

You seem to be a person having a multi-layered personality. And I could feel the depth of your mind, as I read your answers.

You’re a spiritual being. And I like these kind of people. And I also have an inclination towards those who always have a smile on their face.

So, you seem to be a fabulous person. I wish you all the best, for your life ahead. And thanks for featuring me on your blog.
